Researcher Rui Gonçalves won first prize in the SPIN Rise: Pitch the Science accelerator program, whose in-person phase took place between November 26 and 28 in Milan.
The program, organized by B4i – Bocconi for Innovation, aims to train and help researchers transform scientific results into solutions with real impact on the market, promoting the valorization of intellectual property and the development of technological start-ups.
The project team consists of Rui Gonçalves and his advisors and co-founders of the technology, Dr. António Vicente and Professor Manuel Mendes. The start-up proposal is based on the technology of modular and adaptable solar panels, which they have been developing and are in the process of protecting, which allows solar energy to be assembled, expanded, and configured in a way that is completely adjustable to the needs of each user.
As the winner, Rui gained direct access to the international pre-acceleration program from 28Digital (formerly EIT Digital).
