Professor Elvira Fortunato has been invited by the Remarque Institute at New York University (NYU) to take part in the international conference “What's Left of Europe's Technological Sovereignty?”, to be held in New York on 14-15 November 2025.

The event will gather leading academics, policymakers and intellectuals from the U.S. and Europe, as well as representatives from the Financial Times. During the conference, Professor Elvira Fortunato will present a talk titled “The Role of Science in an Age of Geopolitical Uncertainty”, in which she will explore the crucial role of science and scientific diplomacy within a global scenario marked by geopolitical tensions, technological rivalries and a pressing need to reinforce European technological and scientific sovereignty.
