Pedro Barquinha, researcher at CENIMAT|i3N and Professor at NOVA FCT, has been appointed to the National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CNCTI), a government advisory body on science, technology and innovation topics.
Luís Montenegro, the Portuguese Prime Minister, presented the nomination on November 5th.
The CNCTI is responsible for collaborating in the development and support of the national scientific and technological system, in the internationalization of Portuguese science, as well as advising and promoting the transversal and inter-ministerial articulation of science and innovation policies. The CNCTI must also collaborate in parliamentary debates on science, technology and innovation, when requested by the Assembly of the Republic.
The order emitted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Prime Minister's Office has also been made public in the Diário da República.
