To mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we hosted a powerful Round Table session yesterday at the Leopoldo Guimarães Amphitheatre. It was an afternoon dedicated to reflection, shared experiences, and championing the role of women in STEM.
The conversation, moderated by Filipa Mendes, brought together an incredible diverse panel representing academia, industry, and local administration. A huge thank you to our distinguished speakers for their invaluable contributions:
Maria Paula Diogo
Alexandra Mendes
Diana Gaspar
Asal Kiazadeh
Maria João Macau
Leonor Monteiro Grillo Paim
One of the most rewarding moments was welcoming a local school to the event. These young students didn't just listen - they actively engaged with our speakers, asking insightful questions
The session was officially opened and closed by Professor Elvira Fortunato whose leadership and legacy continue to pave the way for women in science worldwide.
