The Innovation: Next-Generation Space Photonics

The recognized technology focuses on the development of a lightweight, radiation-hard flexible substrate with integrated photonic light-management structures for space applications.

This innovation addresses one of the most critical challenges in modern space exploration: the need for components that combine extreme durability against harsh cosmic conditions with the lightness and flexibility required to reduce launch costs and increase device efficiency.

According to the analysis by independent experts from the European Commission, this innovation has been categorized as having "High" Market Creation Potential. Currently in the "Exploring" stage of market maturity, its future impact on the aerospace industry is considered transformative.
