Professors Rodrigo Martins and Elvira Fortunato, coordinator and sub-coordinator of i3N, were distinguished by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) at a ceremony held on July 4th, in the Chinese city of Hefei.
Professor Rodrigo Martins was selected Distinguished Scientist by the PIFI (President International Fellow Initiative) of the CAS, the highest distinction given to foreign members of the Academy, which began in 2009 and has so far only been awarded to 5000 scientists worldwide.
This category rewards internationally recognized scientists/academics who have made outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology. Professor Elvira Fortunato was appointed Honorary Professor by the Heifei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS-CAS), an integrative research base within CAS.
