A world-class expert in carbon nanostructures and TMDs, Prof. Duesberg will discuss breakthrough methods in 2D material functionalization and their integration with silicon technology to create next-gen sensors and hybrid devices. Professor Rodrigo Martins and Professor Elvira Fortunato showcased global leadership at the 3rd Hong Kong World Youth Conference. Professor Elvira Fortunato joined the "Basic Research and the Future Nobel" roundtable, discussing the foundations of scientific breakthroughs. Professor Rodrigo Martins delivered an opening speech at the Asia-Europe Science and Technology Innovation Forum, highlighting the European Academy of Sciences' role in fostering excellence and cross-continental cooperation.

For the sixth year in a row, Professor Elvira Fortunato has been voted “Trusted Personality in Research and Science” by Reader's Digest readers.

This year’s results are particularly remarkable, with a significant leap in trust: rising from 25% last year to 48% in 2026.

This recognition, based on the "Trusted Brands 2026" study (conducted between September and November 2025), uses an open-ended nomination process, making this spontaneous choice by the public even more meaningful.
