Professor Elvira Fortunato, sub-coordinator of i3N, was awarded the 2024 Scientific Merit Medal by the President of the Foundation for Science and Technology, Madalena Alves, during the Science Meeting, which took place between July 3 and 5 in Porto.
The award was received by Professor José Fernando Mendes, vice-coordinator of i3N, who was present at the Meeting.

On July 4, in the Chinese city of Hefei, the establishment of a joint laboratory between China and Europe in the field of flexible electronics was inaugurated, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NOVA FCT, HFIPS-CAS and the European Academy of Sciences (EURASC), in the presence of the director of NOVA FCT, Professor José Júlio Alferes.

Professors Rodrigo Martins and Elvira Fortunato, coordinator and sub-coordinator of i3N, were distinguished by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) at a ceremony held on July 4 in the Chinese city of Hefei. Professor Rodrigo Martins was selected Distinguished Scientist by the PIFI (President International Fellow Initiative) of the CAS, the highest distinction given to foreign members of the Academy, which began in 2009 and has so far only been awarded to 5000 scientists worldwide.

On June 28th, CENIMAT | i3N hosted a visit from the Brazilian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Luciana Santos.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Brazil and Portugal, promoting sustainable research and developing innovative technologies that improve people's quality of life.

O CENIMAT|i3N e o DCM convidam os estudantes do ensino secundário do 9º ao 12º ano a participar nos estágios do programa Ciência Viva no Laboratório - Ocupação de Jovens nas Férias 2024. Estes estágios proporcionam uma oportunidade de aproximação à realidade da investigação científica e tecnológica, e decorrem, este ano, na semana de 15 a 19 de Julho de 2024. As inscrições abrem já no dia 4 de junho no site do Ciência Viva.
