Professor Rodrigo Martins Appointed to the EUNICE Expert Advisory Board
Professor Rodrigo Martins has been appointed as a member of the Expert Advisory Board (EAB) of the European University for Customized Education (EUNICE) for the term April 2025 – October 2027. EUNICE is a transnational university alliance comprising 10 European public universities and representing over 150,000 students and 15,000 staff members across all major European regions.

CIGS solar cells: UAveiro studies promising breakthrough for space applications
A study led by researchers from i3N Aveiro has demonstrated the potential of CIGS-based solar cells for space applications. The work, which involved simulating the effects of radiation on the performance of these cells and studying recovery methodologies, confirms their viability for use in satellites and other equipment in orbit.

Kicking off the NANOMAT Talks
NANOMAT is launching a new initiative: NANOMAT-Talks.
Throughout this seminar series, the CENIMAT|i3N Amphitheater will receive Professors, Professionals from companies, Representatives from local authorities, and alumni from NANOMAT partner institutions that will share their experiences and best practices.
On March 5, at 15h00, the CENIMATi3N amphitheater will host the seminar "The Power of GenAI for Research and Education", presented by Prof. Manuela Aparício, Associate Dean at NOVA IMS.

NOVA FCT announces scholarships for master's programmes
NOVA FCT will have scholarships for master's degrees in the next academic year, for students with a final bachelor's degree average of 15 or more.

Application Period: 1st – 30th September 2025
Eligibility: Students must apply after enrolling in a master's programme at NOVA FCT.
Results: The list of selected candidates will be published on the faculty's website by 15th October.
Master’s programmes in the Department of Materials Science (DCM) are eligible.

Steadylife’ project: the big winner of the 13th edition of the NOVA FCT Entrepreneurship Programme
The ‘Steadylife’ project, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) application that aims to revolutionise Parkinson's diagnosis, was the big winner of the 13th edition of the NOVA FCT Entrepreneurship Programme.

SteadyLife aims to revolutionise the method of diagnosing Parkinson's Disease, which affects 10 million people worldwide and 18,000 patients in Portugal.
