CENIMAT-i3N recently had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Ute Kaiser, Full Professor at Ulm University, Germany, and Head of the Group of Materials Science Electron Microscopy, for a scientific visit aimed at strengthening future collaboration.

The work stems from the PhD research of Diogo Carvalho, supervised by Maria Rosário P. Correia (i3N) and Paulo Fernandes (i3N and NOA-INL).

On April 14th at 3 PM, CENIMAT|i3N hosts Prof. Georg S. Duesberg for the seminar "Controlled 2D materials for hybrid devices & sensing". A world-class expert in carbon nanostructures and TMDs, Prof. Duesberg will discuss breakthrough methods in 2D material functionalization and their integration with silicon technology to create next-gen sensors and hybrid devices. Carlos Amorim was selected for his outstanding contributions to Nanoscale Advances, recognised for the number, timeliness and quality of reports over the past 12 months.

Professor Rodrigo Martins and Professor Elvira Fortunato showcased global leadership at the 3rd Hong Kong World Youth Conference. Professor Elvira Fortunato joined the "Basic Research and the Future Nobel" roundtable, discussing the foundations of scientific breakthroughs. Professor Rodrigo Martins delivered an opening speech at the Asia-Europe Science and Technology Innovation Forum, highlighting the European Academy of Sciences' role in fostering excellence and cross-continental cooperation.
